Where Did I Go Wrong

by Margie Lebreton

Where did I go wrong? My name is Margie Lebreton. I am 42 years old. I have three children. Two son's, one is 24 yrs old the other 17 yrs old my middle child is a daughter and she is 20 years old.

They are all smart and beautiful people. I have dedicated my life to them I have made sure I got up every morning and took care of them. One by one they have gone to school.

My oldest is boarderline mentaly challegne but I am happy to say he did graduate from high school back in 2004.

My daughter also graduated 2008 soon to be going to college after taking one year off to decide what she wants to take up.

I have always told me story to me children. How I never got the oppotunity to finish school. How I came from a abusive home and that the first time I entered a class room was at the age of 8. And how hard life has been to me.

But one thing I always told them was I was not going to let them drop out of school.

They had to learn how to work hard and earn their way. I have always reminded them that if they can't take care of them selves don't ever bring a life into the word to suffer neither.

Some how somewhere my son, the 17 year old has
taken the turn down the wrong way.

Last month I was told I was going to be a grandmother for the first time. It was a bitter sweet feeling but all I keep thinking is how are we going to care for this child.

I can give it love and do as much as could but the truth is I am not working which is ok. I can stay home and make sure these two young kids continue their education they are both in the 11 grade.

The thing is that a few months ago I finaly said wow one more year when my son is 18 I am finaly free. I am going back to school get a education and get a good paying job and travel lol. Well thats out the window for now.

I guess what I am saying is I have to make sure these children don't become part of all the tax payer's pocket, so I will do what ever it takes to make sure they finish their schooling.

But I do need help. All I get is child support and food stamps that I just recently got approved for.

I know that the young girl's mom's don't work due to a medical condition, so I know she can't not provide much for this new grandchild nor can I.

What I am asking for is if anyone can give a crib
mattress and stroller for my future grandson whom will be born September of this year not sure of date because they kept it a secret so long.

I would be so thankfull or anything you can give. This child needs everything. I just don't know what to do. My son is looking for work and is been hard one he's young the other not to many
jobs around especialy for teenagers and the young mother Tobe is only 16.

Please if anyone can help.
