The Power of Giving Returned
Power of Giving
My randon act of kindness story. I have a recent story to share involving the power of giving returned. It is right around the holidays. I am at the grocery store picking up a few things.
Right in front of the register they have these colored cards with a dollar amount on them. The cards are used to ring up at the register if you want to make a donation to help feed hungry families. I, of course, grab one and hand it to the cashier.
I love doing stuff like that especially around the holidays. I even did back when I was struggling to make ends meet. It always makes me feel good.
Anyway, I stopped and got my mail on the way home. There were two cards in my mailbox. One was from my cousin. She had been to visit me and my son at our house near the beach over the summer.
She was sending a thank you card. It contained a $25.00 prepaid visa card. Her card said, "as a thank you for carting our butts around this summer and carrying all the chairs and umbrella."
What a totally unnessacary unexpected thing for her to do. I couldn't stop grinning.
The second card was from my sister in New York. It was a Thanksgiving Day card and it contained $50.00. How sweet. I was so appreciative of both of their gestures.
As I sat there feeling happy and loved I wondered, "Did I do anything recently that these thoughtful gifts could be an excellent example of the power of giving?" Then I remembered the small donation I made earlier that day.
By doing even the smallest acts of generosity, you are inviting good vibrations to come into your life and the power of giving to be returned.
