Hello. I am a single mom of three great kids. I have a daughter who is soon to be 12 and is very smart.
She has had to mature early because she has 2 special needs brothers.
My 8 year old Braden had infantile spasms as a baby and has caused him severe delays.
He can't talk, and he is autistic. He is a great child. He just gets so frustrated at times because sometimes I don't understand what he wants so its frustrating for us both.
Then there is my baby who is 6 whose name is Landon. Since he was three months has had severe grand mal seizures. The last three years he and I have spent a great deal in hospitals for testing which was done quit a bit because they could not pin point where his seizures were coming from.
In 2007 of july he had brain surgery. The first surgery was to place grids on his head to minimize where the seizures were coming from.
The second surgery was to take out the part that was causing them. They took out a huge chunk of his right brain and I was so hoping to never see a seizure again.
Of course 12 hours after surgery he had one. They told me not to be discouraged they did a lot to the brain and sometimes it happens.
After 3 months of being home and repeated seizures went back to the doctor (which is 3 hours away)for them to tell me they dont think they got enough.
Testing started all over again. Then in August of 2008 we did it all over again with them taking out some on the left also.
Now I meet with the doctor once again to discuss another surgery to cut his brain in half or into fourths. That way the seizures won't spread from one side to the other.
His seizures started out 45 minutes now they are around 8 minutes. Thank god I have a medical card to pay for the surgeries. The expense is driving all the way there and having to pay for gas getting there.
I have back property taxes that are due. I have to drive to see the neurologist and the surgeon. I actually just came across this site searching for help. I hate to ask but anyone that could donate any amount would help me tremendously.
