Diana's Story:

I am a 41 year old woman mother of six children seeking to be reunited with my daughter age 10. We haven't been able to see each other for 4 years. My attorney is going to want another retainer soon and I will need travel to Las Vegas.

I had a custody case heard in Clark County Family Court ruling in 2003 regarding my 5 year old daughter Bethany (now 10).

The judge gave custody to her abusive father (3 Child Protective Services cases for beating my 4 other children from a previous marriage.) Rebeccah M. (Judicial Assistant) told me via telephone (recorded) the judge would give me a telephone hearing considering I lived 400+ miles away she said he would call my phone around 10am. I waited until 11am the judge did not call me. I called the courtroom that morning at 11am I was told my case has been heard. The Baliff said "Mam the judge didn't have time to call you. He's heard 20 cases and took 2 people into custody". I spoke to Michael B. the law clerk for him to say "Your case was heard. You lost by default. You did not respond in time"

I then spoke to Rebeccah she was upset said "I don't know how this could of happened he told me he would call you for the hearing." I filed on time Pro Se. My attorney I have now said I did. I was the custodial parent for 4 years living in Nevada with my 6 children. We were not having any problems. My daughter was in kindergarten doing very well. She was also the star on her soccer team.

I lost by default due to the Judge's negligence. He did not even grant me visitation.

Now everyday is a continued fight to get my daughter back. I need to keep fighting. That's why I'm here.



My daughter was afraid of being with her father she hardly knew him. Court files showed him to be abusive (3 cps cases for beating my other children). I also had restraining orders on him prior for domestic violence. I lost all trust in the justice system. I haven't been able to see my daughter now for 4.5 years!!! She turned 10 February 24,2008. Everyday a battle rages in my mind how this judge was not caring about the life of my child or others. He granted a passport to her father (a native of another country) behind my back. Now my daughter stands as a threat for international abduction!

I won the case for my parental rights in August 2007. His attorney said they withdrew and showed up to court! That's not the first underhanded move on their part. I Thank God my lawyer was able to get to the court in time as to not lose my rights as a parent.

I pray someone will see the injustice made and have a heart to help me financially to enable reunification with my daughter and I. Bethany says, “Daddy lies. He lies a lot. Even about little things" Bethany also told me that her dad cussed at her and threw a toy at her she ducked and it hit the wall.

I’ve already given my lawyer $3,500 for the parental rights case and $2,500 to go to court for visitation.

As for the U.S.passport issued for my daughter. The judge did order her father to turn it in to the court 08/07. He has not done it and refuses to do it when I told him he needs to.

There are Red Flags everywhere that he is plotting to abduct my daughter to his home country where his other daughter lives.

As my situation continues so does my desperate need for help for travel funds to the Vegas court and lawyer fees.

My lawyer is working on getting my visitation. My biggest problem is the money I will need to be able to travel to see her. I barely make the bills. I have not seen my daughter in 4.5 years and right now she still is a threat of becoming abused by her abusive father.

There is so much more to my story. Please, I’ll answer any questions you have. Just know this, the day I lost my daughter I lost my mind.
