Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness. They happen every day. Sometimes we are so busy and caught up in our own lives we may not see them. We may not realize how many and how often these wonderful random acts of kindness happen throughout any given day. But, if you just slow down for a minute... just one tiny moment and think about it, I am sure you can recount a single act of kindness from just today alone. Some acts are huge, generous and very noticeable while others are small and can sometimes go unnoticed until we really focus.

There is a woman I interact with on a weekly basis. She is in her seventies and I consider her a dear friend. Every Tuesday she goes to the video store to rent a movie (that is when the new releases come out ;). She gets to keep the movie for a week. She watches that movie on Thursday night without fail. Then, on Friday morning she gives me the movie to watch before it's due. She offers a recap, a review and let's me know if it is appropriate for my son to watch. She does this every week. I never asked her to share her movie, it's just something she does for me. What a very nice thing to do. I try to let her know how much I appreciate it but I wonder if she truly knows how special I think it is.
