Other Peoples Needs

Act of Kindness

Act of Kindness

Sometimes other peoples needs must come before your own.

I wanted to keep the last pup of molly's litter but my family told me I was insane and what on earth would we do with an extra dog and six dogs is too many.

But the little pup followed me everywhere and we loved each other.

I'd just sold the second last pup and felt terrible because, although the buyers seemed a nice enough couple, they didn't seem to be buying little Maltese-Shihtzu for themselves to love but rather as a playmate for their other dog Trouper.

I felt that the dear little fella wouldn't get much affection.I cried when he was gone.

So here I was with little pup and although people were coming to look at her I'd made up my mind.I was going to keep her.

The night before they arrived puppy howled so I let her sleep on my bed.I just couldn't contemplate giving such a sweet fluffy darling away.

Who was going to play the piano for her and what family could love her like I did.

The perspective buyers arrived. I had decided to tell them I'd changed my mind.

They were a young married couple with a baby and a woman in her late sixties. They all liked the look of the pup and at first I thought the young couple were buying her but it was actually the younger woman's mother who wanted pup.

She told me straight away that she had lost her old dog of thirteen the day before and how it broke her heart to have to have her put down because of severe heart disease.

The daughter added that they thought a new pup might help ease the pain even though it would'nt replace the other dog.

Well, what could I do? Pup was desperate to get back into my arms but I had to let them buy her.

I gave pup a kiss and was reassured to learn that the new owner played the piano. They left with pup and I didn't stop them.

Sometimes other peoples needs must come before your own. I cried for hours.
