Cup O Joe and a Doughnut

Random act of kindness story - a cup o'joe and a doughnut. One early Sunday morning, I was walking down a main street on the way to get some coffee and doughnuts. As I crossed the main intersection, I noticed a guy hollering and cussing rather loudly and obnoxiously, wandering aimlessly all over the sidewalk.

He was definitely disrupting the otherwise peaceful Sunday morning. I called out to him and when I got his attention, I asked him to come over.

We didn't have much conversation, I sensed that he wasn't in a condition to tell me anything very rational! I did find out that he was hungry though.

We were right in front of the doughnut shop, so I told him to sit down and be quiet while I went in. In addition to my own purchases, I got him a doughnut and a cup of coffee.

I took it outside and gave it to him. He thanked me and had completely calmed down by then. I walked back home, happy that I had been able to help him calm down and calm down a little area of my neighborhood too.
